Writer's Block: Internet Influence

Well, I don't think it's helpful for our attention spans. But frankly, neither is television. People are becoming more and more fixated with instant gratification, but that's the result of our modern, capitalist culture anyway. As always, there are pluses and minuses to this way of life. As people have mentioned, there is more access to a wealth of information, which is a wonderful thing when well utilized. I think that technology is an unavoidable part of our modern lives and it will only get more prevalent and advanced, but we have to remember that we are in control of finding a healthy balance. If you're concerned about it, then cut your use to a minimum for a while and do something that delays your gratification a bit but is equally, if not more rewarding, and emphasize the importance of non-technology oriented hobbies and social interaction with your children.
